General Glazing Highlights
This unique structure is built off of a small interior concrete base and a fully cantilevered roof. The unsupported exterior walls are made up of ten 3/4 inch thick monolithic tempered glass panels that are ten foot by ten foot and mitered in all corners. There is a pair of matching 3/4 inch glass doors on each of the four sides of the building. The stainless steel framing is all custom designed and built to not only secure the glass but to allow several inches of slip with in the system in case of seismic activity. Even the doors top hinges are tied into this slip system to allow them to float and still operate during an earthquake. The skylight on top of the roof is a 5 foot by 11 foot insulated glass unit sitting in a Rollamatic skylight frame which is fully automated to open up the entire opening during the warmer months. With the exterior being flanked by free standing hand made cut log wall patricians (by others) this is truly a unique and beautiful structure.
