About Us

In the late 1800’s our family apprenticeship began in San Francisco and the family’s first glass shop opened its doors in 1897. In the old American tradition, each generation has been taught the glazing trade from father to son. Kevin Hardman’s training began at the age of 10 under the tutelage of both his father and his grandfather. Working at both shops brought both new-world and old-world skills and knowledge. Kevin and his father Joe ran Hardman Glazing Systems for 20 years working side by side until Joe’s retirement. Kevin now uses his 30 + years in the trade to run and manage a wide variety of glazing projects across the country.

Kevin Hardman has not only received his individual college degree but continues to advance his education within the industry. Having received certificates in the Installation Masters Program which was developed by The American Society for Testing and Materials, The California Association Of Window Manufacturers and The American Architectural Manufacturers Association.  The program utilizes technical support from OSHA, The National Glass Association, The Building Environment and Thermal Envelope Council and The Window and Door Manufacturers Association. He is also an approved installer for several high end window manufacturers. Using his almost 30 years in the industry, he is also an expert witness available across the country. He provides review of case documents and claims, inspects projects and materials entering/or in litigation, is available as an expert witness for depositions and during trial.

Our approach to projects is not driven by speed but by accuracy and overall level of craftsmanship. Although we maintain a strict awareness of schedules and work efficiency, the end product is the most critical aspect to us. On all of our projects we establish control lines to enable us to maintain tight tolerances. In many instances these lines are used by other trades for use in determining floor finish levels, ceiling finish levels and various other critical aesthetic areas of the project. We pride ourselves on not only understanding our work but those of the trades around us. This allows us to work with the other trades to mitigate interfacing issues and help to provide a quality and cohesive end product.  Because of our philosophy, over 90% of our work is derived through referrals. This level of quality has aided many of the projects we have been associated with to receive awards such as The Sarany Award of Excellence, AIAEB Exceptional Residence Honor Award, and several AIA Honor, Merit and Grand Prize Awards.
