Glazing Systems Used

Insulated glass units in structural steel framing, 3/8 and 1/4 inch partition glass and doors

General Glazing Highlights

For this project we provided large scale insulated glass units that we installed into the custom steel framing. In addition to being over sized the majority of the units were tappered at the top to follow the line of the house as it flows down towards the ocean. The skylight section above the library is made up of overlapping insulated units that shingle down slope and run out of square and mittered with the structure. On the interior 1/4 tempered glass acts as partitions and is used full height to seperate the library from the lower bathroom. In the bathrooms 3/8 inch tempered glass was used for the doors and sidelights at the shower and comode locations. In the master bathroom 3/4 inch tempered glass was used to create the corner of the bathtub to keep the clear open look of the design.
