Glazing System Used

Hope’s Windows, Inc. from New York

General Glazing Highlights

For this unique residence we installed Hope’s windows and doors around the entire home and re-glazed some existing Hope’s doors that were original from before the re-modle. The project consisted of seven massive two story tall three sided towers at varying elevations. All caulking on these frames used custom caulking to blend the frame connections and glass to frame for a seem less look. Low-E insulated glass was used throughout the home as well as 1/2 laminated Advantage glass in the upper ‘Sky Room’ and Satin etched one inch thick walkway glass. Along with the steel frame towers, doors and frames we installed 3/8 tempered glass along the second and third floor walkways. The Advantage glass was mitered and notched to wrap around the top room to provide some stunning San Francisco views. On the side of the home we installed glass treads and a landing from the the second flour to the lower courtyard. The sides of the staircase is lined with 1/2 glass panels. As a final touch we also made custom magnetic window screens so no holes had to be drilled into the finished steel.
